Classic Car Mechanic

What you’ll be doing

We’re looking for an experienced Classic Car Mechanic to join our team.

You’ll be working on a wide range of classic vehicles, carrying out fault finding, carburettor work, engine rebuilds, electrical diagnostics and mechanical restoration.

This role would suit someone who already has experience with classic cars, but we also welcome mainstream mechanics with extensive personal experience and a genuine passion for classic vehicles.

Our team restores and maintains all sorts of classics, from MGs, Jaguars and Alfa Romeos to Land Rovers, Range Rovers, Rovers and Minis, spanning cars from the 1950s to the early 2000s.

A key part of the role will be chatting with customers about their vehicles, listening to their stories and helping bring their vision to life. Our customers are passionate about their cars, so you’ll be explaining work clearly, offering guidance and enhancing their restoration experience. Being friendly, approachable, and genuinely enthusiastic about classic cars will make a real difference to the customer experience and the story of each car.

What you’ll be working on:

  • Diagnosing and fault finding on classic vehicles

  • Full engine rebuilds and mechanical repairs

  • Working with carburettors and traditional fuel systems

  • Diagnosing and repairing electrical systems

  • General servicing and maintenance

  • Repairing brakes, suspension and drivetrains

  • Preparing vehicles for MOT testing

  • Coordinating with the team on full restoration projects

  • Interacting with customers professionally and enthusiastically, helping them understand the work and enhancing their restoration experience

What We’re Looking For

  • Proven experience as a mechanic, ideally with classic vehicles

  • Strong mechanical diagnostic and repair skills

  • Experience with engine rebuilds and classic vehicle systems

  • Confidence diagnosing mechanical and electrical faults

  • A genuine passion for classic cars

  • Attention to detail and pride in your work

  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team

  • Welding skills would be an advantage but are not essential.

We’re looking for someone who is friendly, approachable and easy to get along with. You’ll be working closely with colleagues on complex projects and speaking with customers, so good communication skills and a collaborative attitude are essential.

Full UK driving licence required.

If you’re the kind of person who enjoys working on classics in your own garage at home, and taking pride in quality workmanship while being a team player, we’d love to hear from you.
